Husband - it's your 32nd birthday and I am so thankful to be the one by your side celebrating it! Thank you for choosing me 4 years ago as we walk through life together. Everything we've celebrated and endured are things I'm beyond grateful to have you holding my hand through. You're my rock and best friend and I still wake up so in love with you, thankful for the encouragement, support and laughter you bring to my life daily! You have my whole heart, let's stay young and in love forever, okay? Actually, scratch that…I like growing old with you! Let’s do that instead.
Baby Savannah,
I can’t believe it has been an entire year since you were born. Seems like just yesterday I was dealing with every kick in the middle of the night and every TUM I took to settle the heartburn.
It was a shock to know that I’d deliver you in such a hurry but your health was of the utmost importance to your dad and me. I was much calmer this time around delivering you, I knew what to expect and when I heard you cry it brought tears to my eyes. I was so thankful to the nurse that sat with you next to me while I got stitched up so we could just stare at each other. You were 6 lbs, 2 oz., just 6 oz smaller than your big sister, but you haven’t stopped growing and are catching up with her quick.
I think that slightly early arrival set the stage to the little lady you’d become. You do things on your terms from doing whatever it takes (screaming, crying, charming) to get exactly what you want. You and me? We’re a lot alike. Just like me, your happy temper can go from 0 to 60 in about a millisecond. I don’t blame you, we just know what we like, right baby girl? I can dig a little feistiness, but please don’t make me regret saying that when you are a teenager.
Despite your persistence, you have blossomed into such a cutie, and are quick to make your daddy and me smile or laugh. My heart swells each morning when I get you up, you are always smiley and happy after a good night’s sleep, which I’m thankful you took to quickly like your sister. You love watching our ceiling fans and you’re very aware of all your surroundings.
You can play independently but prefer being in the same room as your big sis. She makes you smile the most, and we get such joy watching you come at her and “talking” to her. When you’re not admiring your sis, you are trying to climb up my leg. You are absolutely a mama’s girl. I jokingly call you my “stage 5 clinger.” Don’t tell anyone, but I secretly love it since your sister is such a daddy’s girl, but I do hope you find your independence in the years ahead.
You seem to be taking after your sister in the milestone department.
Here we are at one year old and like her you have two bottom teeth and
you are crawling and attempting to take steps. This isn’t my first rodeo
as a parent…so I’m not pushing you to do anything I know you will
achieve it all in your own time.
You make me melt every day, and I can’t imagine life without you in our family. I can’t even write this without getting choked up. You seriously have filled my heart in a spot I didn’t even know existed until you came along.
Baby girl, I just love you. I tell you that about 50 times a day when I cover you with kisses, and I have no intentions of ever stopping. You’re our Bap Bap, our Savannah Grace, and most importantly our baby. You make us all smile. Thank you for bringing our family such immense joy.
I love you to the moon and back, there are no words to express the love I feel for you. I look forward to every new year with you and watching you become the amazing person you are destined to be.
I love you...Happy Birthday...

Today was Part 2 of Hannah’s birthday, yesterday was her
actual birthday but today was her party at Chuck E Cheese with all of our
family and friends (well at least those who could make it). I scheduled her party at 10 AM because if you’re
a parent you know that attending Chuck E Cheese after 12 PM on a weekend is
absolutely the most insane idea ever!
In attendance was obviously us, my in-laws, my BIL and SIL
as well as 2 moms and their kids from our mommy group and some other close
friends who have been around for most of Hannah’s life. It was great to have everyone who loves
Hannah around us to celebrate her birthday, even better that some of our
friends who have kids that came out to play…Hannah does enjoy being around
them.
Hannah loves Chuck E Cheese and all the rides, mostly the “nay”
or horse but unfortunately it’s been broken the last 2 or 3 times we’ve been
there so she kind of just sits on it.
Hannah also likes to ride in the baby teacup with her sister, which of
course is one of my favorites to see them together on.
A couple of pizzas, 2 ½ hours of playtime and a whole bunch
of presents later that little girl is whooped.
She passed out in the car on the way home but of course when we got home
she woke right up and wanted to play with all her new toys. My BIL and SIL came over to spend some time
with us since they north about an hour and a half so we built one of their
gifts to Hannah which was a “pop up” type tent that looks like a school house
and has the ABC’s on the roof, very cute.
This will definitely be Hannah’s new play spot and where I have plotted
tossing all her toys at the end of the night instead of actually picking them
up and putting them away in her room.
I’m so happy that for the past 2 days she’s had a blast
celebrating her birthday, there have been a couple tantrums but mostly because
she was so dang tired from all her partying!
Thank you to everyone who participated in and has wished Hannah birthday
wishes of love…she is one treasured little girl but most of all by her daddy
and mommy who can’t wait until next year (David said I could get her a
horse!!!)
Happy Birthday baby girl…we love you!!
Today, Hannah turned 2, I know, I know…I’m a mess but it
really was a great day! Hannah had so
much fun even in the sweltering heat (it was 93 but felt like 107…CRAZY HOT!)…she
woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed to both me and David singing “Happy
Birthday”, she didn’t really understand it but she was definitely smiling ear
to ear at her parents singing to her.
Shortly after waking up we did PRESENTS!! Her first gift was really a product that I
received for review the okiedog
Wildpack in the shape of an elephant, this is going to be Hannah’s own
personal diaper bag from now on or my quick run out the door bag for both girls…I will have a review on the blog later this weekend. After that she opened her new words book,
Hannah loves books and these new ones we found with all the colors, animals and
every word possible she would need to know.
Then we took a trip back in time as I had found her an etch-a-sketch…I
mean come on, what kid doesn’t need one of these? I loved mine when I was a
kid! David’s special gift to her was a Rapunzel hair doll which we quickly learned
was a crazy idea after realizing the hair gets tangled very fast and gets all
over the place…oh well it’s Hannah’s new baby and she loves it so that’s all
that matters, mommy just might have to give Rapunzel a haircut LOL
Last but not least David and I got Hannah a Disney
Princess Mustang…when we found out that we were pregnant with Hannah, David
sold is Mustang that was his pride and joy to buy a more family friendly
vehicle (our Jeep) and so it’s very cool that he gets to give her a Mustang for
her 2nd birthday. At first
Hannah wasn’t too sure of it, mostly because she couldn’t reach the pedals but
once we put a little towel behind her to scoot her up a bit she was going…going…GONE! She even took her baby sister for a ride,
which was crazy to see considering in about 14 years it’s going to be my worst
nightmare when they want drivers’ licenses.
Since all the cupcakes got eaten at the pool party we
decided to take Hannah out for a birthday ice cream at Dairy Queen…here’s a
couple pictures of her trying to force David to eat her French Fries...I love
watching them interact, they are quite the pair.
For a 2nd birthday it was eventful, fun, loving
and happy, all things I want her to have every year on her birthday. Tomorrow is her party at Chuck E Cheese with
our family and friends so that will be another opportunity for more pictures
and another blog post (pretty sure this counts as birthday week for blog posts…sorry,
not sorry). Thanks to anyone who left
comments here on the Blog, my Twitter or Facebook wishing Hannah a Happy
Birthday, we definitely appreciate it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH!!!!
