We 'Bout That #MiniVanLife

7/29/2014

Awww....shit!  I know I said I'd never be "that mom" but damn it, it happened.  Yup, I officially own a mini van...a Chrysler Town & Country to be exact.  Before I get into the car itself let me just say that I have taken a lot of time to research the Mini Van vs the SUV.  Deciding to go into the #minivanlife was not exactly what I wanted but after I did some serious comparing and driving back to back it won out.  I'm a convert now...I know, it's so sad.  But in all honesty the T&C blew away any competition in our eyes...maybe in five years I can go back to a SUV but for this mom of almost three, we 'bout that #minivanlife!

First, I must say that I do tend to like vehicles that are more "boxy" than round, hence why I'm more a fan of SUV's.  Minivans to me have always been round space-like UFO looking vehicles but Chrysler stepped up their game with the newer models of the T&C.  I really wanted white or black but for some reason the silver just made the car look cooler and let's not forget the pimpin' red pin stripe thing this bad girl is rocking!

This gal right here has been dubbed "Sweetie Pie" and sweet is exactly what she is.  I mean this big lady is loaded to the hilt.  I'm talking double, yes...D-O-U-B-L-E DVD players and DVD screens, the infamous Stow & Go, automatic doors, window shades for all four rear windows.  Hell this thing even has a flash light in the trunk.  Kuddos to Chrysler for considering all the things a momma could want!

The current layout inside has both my girls in the Captain's seats behind the driver and passenger but when my little boy arrives the girls will move into the 3rd row seat.  I currently have the 3rd row seat laid down flat for the dogs but once the girls move back there, little man will move to the passenger Captain's seat and the one behind the driver will go in the floor.  Yup, that's right, the seat goes IN the floor!

Another huge reason I went with the T&C over say the Dodge Caravan was that by the time I added in a lot of these little accessories that I wanted into the Caravan it would cost more than the T&C that already had them.  I talked with several other moms who had both types of minivans and hands down the T&C was the overall winner is everyone's eyes.  A lot of the mom's I talked to said when they trade in their Caravan they are going with the T&C.

I'm currently trying to think of new plates to put on this lady...I'm thinking RHOCC to represent that #bloglife that I love so much with the new #minivanlife.  We will see...if you have any ideas feel free to post them in the comments section.  Are you living the #minivanlife?  If so, how are you enjoying it?

  2. There really is no better car when you have small children in carseats. I was a minivan mom for a while but then I had my 4th child and there was not enough space for all their gear that lived in the back and the groceries so I bought a suburban, lol.

  3. Welcome to the mini van family. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan and it's my 2nd. We upgraded in 2012 and I LOVE it. It was what we used when we went on our road trip to Canada. I don't think you'll want to go back to a SUV. :)
