Easter Ham...Crock Pot Ham...Heck it's ANYTIME Ham!
5/01/2014
I probably should have put this up before Easter but I made it on Easter and only then thought about taking some photos for a post. Oh well, life goes on and I do make this ham often enough to call it Anytime Crock Pot Ham! Four ingredients, four or five hours and one Crock Pot...it doesn't get too much easier!
I actually found this recipe on Life With The Crust Cut Off, so I can't take credit for it but it's one yummy meal. Add in some mashed potatoes, corn, salad and rolls and it's Christmas dinner year round! So let's get into the ingredients and how to cook it!
Ingredients
- 1 Ham (I use a 1/4 Ham from the grocery store usually but pick whatever size works for your CP)
- Brown Sugar
- 1 Can Cranberry Sauce (feel free to use the jelly or the whole berry, I've used both and it's fine both ways)
- Dijon Mustard (I usually do 2 or 3 tablespoons depending on how spicy I want it to taste)
First, I will open the cranberry sauce and "plop" it in. I use a spoon to break it up a little. Add in the Dijon mustard and about 1/2 a cup of brown sugar and mix it all together. I will add more brown
sugar depending on how "mustardy" the sauce smells. Then just open up the ham and place it on top. Spoon a little of the mixture on top and switch the cooker over to LOW for 4 to 5 hours.
By hour 2 or 3 you will notice the wonderful aroma in your home and it's worth the wait!
This is probably one of my hubby's favorite dishes and when I've made it for Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas everyone has said that they really enjoy it. The best part can be if there are left overs. Toss them in a pan the next day and just warm the ham then add to your bread with a little mustard and it's a great sandwich!
Have you ever cooked ham in a Crock Pot? Do you know other recipes to try? If so let me know, I'd love to try them!

My daughter loves ham! She usually goes for honey glazed but since this seems kinda sweet she will probably like this too... a must save recipe for sure.
ReplyDeleteYummy! I pinned this because I love crockpot meals and don't have any for ham. I will definitely be trying this one out!
